The Head of the Defence and National Security Committee at the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR), Talal Al-Mihoub, said that Libya will not become a state unless militias are dismantled and the Turkish forces and mercenaries exit from the West of the country.
Al-Mihoub’s statements were made while he was commenting on the clashes of the RADA Special Deterrence Forces and the Stability Support Forces in the capital, Tripoli, which claimed the lives of unarmed civilians.
In press statements to the Russian news agency Sputnik, Al-Mihoub added that, “these operations are a real threat to the electoral process in December of this year.”
Notably, the Berlin Conference II on Libya reiterated the call for the immediate “withdrawal of foreign mercenaries from Libya.”
The Conference also called for Libyan authorities to do their part to make the December elections possible, to unify the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), and ensure an equitable distribution of oil revenues.
