The ‘Ways of Peace’ battalion in the city of Al-Kufra, under the General Command, announced that it has confiscated two trucks involved in human trafficking operations, and illegal mining of gold in southern Libya.

The battalion explained in a statement that it has been patrolling the region and intercepted trucks with about twenty five illegal immigrants and mining equipment.

This comes after the General Command of the Army, issued instructions to close the southeastern borders of Libya, with neighboring countries Chad and Sudan, in anticipation of the spread of COVID-19 and to increase patrols in the gold rich region of Al-Kufra.
