On Saturday, a delegation from the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) paid a visit to Libya to learn about the needs of the Libyan market. They will also hold meetings and discussions to explore available investment opportunities.
A member of the Board of Directors of Food Industries Chamber in the FEI, Ayman Kara, said that investment projects are numerous and not limited to reconstruction only, but also include projects in the food sector and intermediate industries.
The FEI is fully prepared to assist in the reconstruction operations in Libya, following from a memorandum of joint cooperation signed between Egypt and Libya. They have also
accumulated experiences of Egyptian and Libyan companies in previous projects – especially since there are many Egyptian-Libyan companies with joint investments.
The FEI affirmed its full support for the directions of the Egyptian government to assist Libya in construction and reconstruction operations for the Libyan state.
Egyptian Prime Minister, Moustafa Madbouly signed around 11 joint cooperation agreements to enhance bilateral cooperation between both countries in various fields during his visit to the Libyan capital, Tripoli, in April.
The joint cooperation agreements included a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on technical cooperation in the field of transportation, an MoU on cooperation in the implementation of road and infrastructure projects, and an MoU in the health and electricity sectors.
