On Thursday evening, the Nalut Military Council announced it would call back its forces from their positions on the 450km Libyan-Tunisian border due to lack of support from the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA).

In a statement, the Council said that its decision to withdraw forces and return them to Nalut was a result of the GNA’s failure to provide sufficient support to its forces deployed along the Tunisian-Libyan border, despite the exceptional circumstances they were facing given the spread of the Covid-19 in Libya.
