On Saturday, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) donated a fully equipped ambulance to the municipality of Janzour, in Tripoli.

In a statement, the UNHCR said that this follows their support to the Libyan population and the health sector, to better respond to medical emergencies related to the intensifying conflict and to COVID-19 cases.

On Saturday, the Libyan National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) recorded no coronavirus case in the country.

In a statement, the NCDC said that it received samples from eight suspected patients, but the results came negative.

The NCDC on Friday reported a new coronavirus case in the country.

“This increased the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 49” the NCDC said in a statement.

“Up to 11 cases have recovered so far in the country, while only one person has died so far,” it added.

On April 3, Libya recorded its first death from coronavirus from an 85 year old woman.
