In Memoriam: Former Libyan Prime Minister Abdurrahim Al-Keib

On Tuesday, Libya’s former Prime Minister Abdurrahim Al-Keib passed away from a heart attack. He was 70 years old.

Originally from the city of Sabratha, Al-Keib was born in 1950 in the capital, Tripoli. He became a professor of electrical engineering in the United States and the UAE.

Al-Keib was named Libya’s Prime Minister in November 2011 by the National Transitional Council, taking over the position from Mahmoud Jibril to manage the country prior to elections in 2012. Al-Keib handed over to Ali Zaidan in November 2012.
