On Tuesday, the Prime Minister of the Interim Government, Abdullah Al-Thini, discussed the needs of the Ubari municipality during a meeting with Ahmed Matco, the head of Ubari’s administrative council.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Local Government, Dr. Adel Al-Zaidi. Al-Thini reviewed the needs of the municipality from agricultural equipment to medical supplies and food staples rations.

Water, sanitation and waste management were also discussed and al-Thini pledged to provide the necessary funds immediately.

The Interim Government has taken a series of stringent precautions to confront the COVID-19 epidemic, as well as studying its impact on the import of food commodities and medical supplies.

The government is also working to provide a strategic stockpile of food staples to meet the needs of the local population until the end of this crisis.
