The Local Council of the Warfalla Tribes rejected any meetings with those who exacerbated the current conflict, describing them as “suspicious”.

The Council’s statement referred to a visit by mayor of Bani Walid, Salem Anwer, to the city of Misrata, which is one of the main strongholds against the Libyan National Army (LNA).

A statement issued by the Council on Tuesday stressed the need to unify ranks and positions through a statewide national program that addresses the present conflict and its threat to Libya’s sovereignty.

The Council confirmed its support for the LNA in its fight against armed groups and extremists in the capital, Tripoli.
