Saad Agoub, the Health Minister for Libya’s eastern-based Interim Government stated that authorities in eastern Libya have managed to avoid a widespread COVID-19 outbreak largely thanks to the precautionary measures taken by the government.
Agoub explained that they could still face a crisis should citizens stranded abroad be repatriated without adhering to the mandatory quarantine period.
The Minister claimed that medical teams were ready to examine and monitor Libyan nationals arriving from abroad. The medical teams would also help set up preventive measures in their homes in preparation for their two week quarantine.
