The Spokesperson for the Libyan National Army (LNA), Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, announced that they had recorded preparatory missions by the Turkish Air Force to target sites within Libya.

In an interview with the ‘Asharq Al-Awsat’ newspaper, Al-Mismari claimed the LNA had noticed “a group of aircraft that simulated targeting sites inside Libyan territory over the past few days”, adding that this was “around the coast of Tripoli, with four warplanes and a refueling aircraft taking part in the operation”

Al-Mismari also announced that Turkish-backed forces had recently participated in a major attack on the city of Tarhuna, alongside forces loyal to the Government of National Accord (GNA). He claimed that the attack took place “from 7 points in a comprehensive operation, in which Turkish aircraft and land forces participated”.

Citing statements made by the Chief of Staff of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army, the LNA spokesman claimed that there were “more than 17,000 foreign fighters in Libya, nearly 1,800 injured, and more than 1,000 killed”.
