The Government of National Accord (GNA) issued an order to void the recently elected Sebha Municipal Council.

It intends to create a steering committee to replace the current Municipality members, after the latter aligned themselves with the Libyan National Army (LNA).

On Saturday, the mayor of Sebha and a number of council members issued a statement in support of the LNA.

In response, the GNA issued a statement denouncing the decision as a ‘legal violation’ and dismissed the members from their posts.
