On Sunday, the Libyan community in Sudan called on the Head of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj, to begin procedures to repatriate them to Libya.

The community stated that it regretted the Foreign Ministry’s inaction during this difficult period, saying it turned a blind eye to their needs. They claimed that the Embassy in Khartoum had refused to do anything to protect them from the deadly pandemic.

Sudan currently has 1,400 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 70 deaths resulting from the virus.
