On Tuesday, the Head of Libyan National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr.Badr Al-Din Al-Najjar, said that the latest case of COVID-19 in Libya had been traced back to citizens that were repatriated from Turkey.

The NCDC Head said that the patient adhered to the government’s rules of self-imposed quarantine on a farm near his home for a period of 14 days.

Al-Najjar also said that the lack of any news cases between May 8 and May 15 was a reassuring indication of the epidemiological situation in Libya.

The total number of confirmed cases in Libya remains at 65, with 33 active cases under medical observation, 35 successful recoveries, and 3 deaths.
