Algeria has renewed its calls for political dialogue and national reconciliation in Libya to protect the country’s unity, security and stability.

This came during a speech by Algerian Prime Minister, Abdelaziz Jarrad, on behalf of Algerian President, Abdel Majid Taboun, in a video conference of the Contact Group of Countries on Libya.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to avoid further divisions, violence and an escalation of the conflict.

During his speech, Jarrad expressed Algeria’s intention to continue to use diplomatic efforts to reach a peaceful settlement and resolve the Libyan crisis.
