The US Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, discussed latest developments in the country with the Mayor of Zintan, Mustafa Al-Barouni.

In a telephonephone conversation on Wednesday, Al-Barouni stressed the desire of Libyans to see an end to the war for Tripoli.

The Ambassador reiterated that the United States has the same goal and believes that only a comprehensive political process can achieve peace and stability in Libya.

The Ambassador also added that the US Agency for International Development was ready to work with the mayor to tackle the municipality’s challenges.
