On Tuesday, the Libyan Waha Oil Company held a handover ceremony for the new management committee of the company.

In a statement, it said “In an atmosphere of cordiality and love, a handover ceremony took place at the company’s headquarters between the former Chairman of the Management Committee, Anwar Ali Al-Shahloul, and Fathi Bin Zahia, the new Chairman.”

The statement added that Al-Shahloul “welcomed the attendees and expressed his thanks and gratitude to everyone, for the support and assistance that was provided to him during his tenure at the company.”

Bin Zahia praised the “efforts made by Al-Shahloul during his tenure wishing him success in his future career.”

Last week, the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced the re-formation of the management committee of the Arabian Gulf Construction Company (AGOCO), headed by Mohamed Shatwan.

In a statement, the NOC said that the new management committee of the AGOCO included Mohamed Shatwan, Chairman of the Management Committee and Awad Mohamed Ekwedir, Member of Operations, Maintenance and Refineries Affairs.

It also included Ibrahim Abdel-Jalil Al-Ghamari, Member of Engineering, Construction and Information Technology Affairs; Ahmed Al-Tayeb Abu Bakr, Member of Exploration Affairs and production, and Ahmed Younis Al-Zawi, Member of Finance, Human Resources, Transportation and Services Affairs.

The NOC added that the Chairman of the Board of Directors held a meeting that included the appointed Chairman of the AGOCO Board of Directors, Mohamed Shatwan, and the former Chairman of the Board, Salah Al-Qatrani.

During this meeting, the most important challenges facing the company and its important role in the NOC’s plan to raise production to 2 million barrels were discussed.

The NOC’s Chairman, Farhat Bengdara thanked Al-Qatrani for his efforts throughout his tenure at the AGOCO.

Bengdara confirmed that Al-Qatrani “will assume several new responsibilities and tasks within the implementation of the NOC’s strategy to advance the sector and its subsidiaries.”

Al-Qatrani stressed the need to “pay attention to the company’s employees in all their technical and administrative positions in order to achieve the required efficiency for the company.”
