A meeting was held on Thursday, at the Ras Ajdir border crossing between Libya and Tunisia to address overcrowding and improve services for citizens. Led by Wissam Khalifa Al-Idrisi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for Ministerial Affairs, the meeting was attended by top officials, including Fadlallah Al-Shalawi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for Land Transport Affairs, and Salah Ali, the Head of the Centre for Management and Operation of Land Ports.

According to Siraj Al-Hamal, the Director of the Information Office at the Ministry of Transport, the government is committed to equipping the border crossing with advanced technologies to reduce congestion, and improve the movement of goods and people between the two countries. The Ministry has also developed a plan to increase the crossing’s capacity and improve the facilities surrounding it.

The meeting involved security services directors at the crossing, led by the Customs Authority, and aimed to ensure the smooth transit of traffic and provide the best services to travellers from both countries.

Notably, a Libyan-Tunisian real estate and investment exhibition and conference will be organised in Tripoli from 18-20 June 2023. Economic actors from both countries are expected to meet over a period of three days.

The economic exhibition and conference is an opportunity to learn about the available opportunities in the real estate, construction, and works sectors. In addition to strengthening relations and interests between economic actors.

The exhibition includes nearly 50 pavilions and space for bilateral meetings from Libya and Tunisia. This will provide an opportunity for marketing, selling, and direct communication between the actors in the Libyan-Tunisian market.

The conference will be a space for dialogue and presentation of the available opportunities for real estate investments. Specialists from both sides will be exposed to the available opportunities in real estate investment, construction and public works, in addition to the legal aspects and procedures used to facilitate the completion of projects.
