On Tuesday Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Noureddine Erray met with Italian Ambassador to Tunisia Lorenzo Fanara to discuss regional and international issues of common concern, especially the latest developments in Libya.

According to a statement issued by the Tunisian Foreign Ministry, the meeting was held in Tunis and touched on various aspects of cooperation between the two countries.

The two officials also discussed preparations for the upcoming visit to Tunisia of Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Luigi Di Maio.

Last month Tunisian President Kais Saied called on the United States of America to support the political track advanced by the United Nations Special Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), which aims to find a political solution to the crisis in Libya.
