Germany Pushes for Political Solution in Libya

The Minister of Foreign Affairs for Libya’s Government of National Accord (GNA), Mohamed Siala, met with German Ambassador to Libya Oliver Owcza.

They discussed the continuation of the three tracks of the Berlin Conference.

The military track is currently underway with the resumption of the 5 + 5 Joint Military Commission. Preperations are ongoing for the parallel political and economic tracks.

Owcza stated that Germany was keen to implement the outcomes of the Berlin Conference. He called on the GNA to commit to the initiatives for a political solution.

Media reports said that the German Ambassador had also met with Prime Minister of the GNA Fayez Al-Sarraj. They discussed the latest military and political developments in the country.
