In a landmark move for Libya’s economic resurgence, Yakhlef Al-Sifaw, Minister of Technical and Vocational Education, emphasized the need to deepen economic relations with Egypt. This initiative is a crucial step in Libya’s journey towards post-conflict recovery, focusing on the revitalization of its technical and vocational sectors, through regional collaboration.

During a significant meeting in Tripoli on Thursday, Al-Sifaw engaged with leaders from the Libyan-Egyptian Businessmen Council, including its President, Mohamed Salem Qudah and Vice-President, Mukhtar Al-Qala’i. The meeting’s agenda was centered around enhancing Libyan capacities, critical for its economic revival and workforce development.

Key points from the discussion included Al-Sifaw’s plans to collaborate with the Islamic Bank, to enhance technical and vocational skills. Furthermore, he expressed a commitment to resolving financial challenges, which hinder the progress of teaching staff and assistants.

The Ministry emphasized that this meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation between the government, and the private sector. This initiative is essential for preparing the Libyan workforce with the skills needed to meet the private sector’s growing demands.

A major focus was the transfer of Egyptian expertise in modern technology to Libyan professionals, aligning with global standards. This led to an agreement to form a joint committee dedicated to developing and implementing strategies that foster broader collaboration across various sectors.

This development marks a significant stride in Libya’s broader strategy to rebuild its economy and stabilize the region. Collaborating with Egypt, a nation with extensive technical expertise and strong historical ties with Libya is strategically important, for addressing the skilled labour shortage in Libya.

Investing in technical and vocational training aligns with global economic trends, and is crucial for Libya’s growth. This approach positions Libya to build a skilled workforce, capable of driving economic development and ensuring long-term stability.

In conclusion, the meeting signifies Libya’s determination to enhance its economic and technical capabilities. This strategic partnership with Egypt underscores Libya’s commitment to rebuilding its economy, enhancing workforce skills, and establishing a foundation for a stable and prosperous future.
