In Benghazi, Libyan Prime Minister-designate Osama Hamad held discussions with United Nations Envoy Abdoulaye Bathily and his team. The meeting, acknowledged by the Libyan government through a brief statement and photographs on Wednesday, did not disclose specific details.
Ahead of the meeting, Prime Minister Hamad commended the eastern, southern, and central regions of Libya for their role in maintaining security and reducing crime, stating these conditions are conducive for development and reconstruction initiatives.
These initiatives, led by the Libyan government and various committees and funds including the Reconstruction and Stability Committee, the Derna Reconstruction Fund, and the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, aim to honor the efforts towards security and stability and improve living standards in Libya.
A focus of these efforts is the Derna Reconstruction Fund’s project with the Soussa water treatment station. A delegation of French experts from SIDEM, the station’s manufacturer, recently conducted a technical inspection to determine necessary spare parts for maintenance, intending to enhance the station’s capacity to support development in Soussa.
This inspection, highlighted on the Fund’s Facebook page and supervised by the head of the Libya Reconstruction and Development Fund, is part of a larger strategy to develop water resources and urban development in Soussa.
