Benghazi Medical Center’s director, Fathiya Al-Oreibi, welcomed an Egyptian medical consultancy team specializing in bone marrow transplantation in Benghazi. Aswaiqer Bozaid, the director of hospital and medical center management at the Ministry of Health of the appointed government by the parliament, stated that the visiting Egyptian team includes four doctors. These physicians are among the first in Egypt to perform bone marrow transplant operations with very high success rates.
The Egyptian delegation conducted a tour of the Benghazi Center, the Children’s Hospital, and the October 15 Hospital to assess the capabilities and requirements for performing spinal cord transplants in Libya.
Notably, Mohamed El-Bahy, Chairman of the Arab Cooperation Committee at the Egyptian Industries Federation, revealed plans for an Egyptian delegation of 120 businessmen to visit Libya in May. The aim is to boost Egyptian exports and tap into new markets across Africa and the Arab world.
El-Bahy disclosed this during an expanded meeting organized by the Arab Cooperation Committee to discuss details of the Egyptian delegation’s visit to Libya. Representatives of industrial chambers and heads of participating companies participated in the meeting.
El-Bahy emphasised the historical ties between Egypt and Libya, He highlighted the focus on Misrata and Benghazi during the visit.
Furthermore, he highlighted the overwhelming interest from industry leaders in participating in the visit. Consequently, two trips will be organized to cater to the needs of all participating companies, ensuring maximum benefit in opening new markets in Libya.
Additionally, he revealed plans for the establishment of an export insurance agency, especially for politically unstable countries. This agency aims to facilitate trade dealings, ensuring exporters receive their dues promptly.
Last week, Egyptian Consul General, Ahmed El-Hamshary announced Egypt’s readiness to actively contribute to the reconstruction of Libya, highlighting the extensive expertise and resources of its companies in the realm of infrastructure development.
These remarks came during a strategic dialogue between the Egyptian Consul General and Libya’s Acting Foreign Minister, Abdulhadi Al-Hwaij, at the Foreign Ministry’s headquarters in Benghazi.
According to the Libyan Government’s Media Office, the meeting was centered on deepening the cooperative ties between the two nations and addressing mutual concerns.
On his part, El-Hamshary stressed Egypt’s robust capability to assist in Libya’s rebuilding process, similar to its involvement in initiatives under the Development and Reconstruction Fund.
