Berniq Airways has made its inaugural landing at Dubai International Airport, marking the return of Libyan aviation to the UAE after a hiatus of over a decade. This strategic decision was announced in a press release, where Berniq Airways disclosed that Dubai International Airport will replace Al Maktoum Airport as its primary hub for flights starting from April 1, 2024. The airline has scheduled two weekly flights, on Fridays and Mondays.
The statement from Berniq Airways highlighted, “Following a pause in international flights on the Benghazi-Dubai sector that extended beyond a decade, Berniq Airways has taken the initiative to bridge the skies between Benghazi and the Emirate of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Proudly commencing its operations through Al Maktoum Airport on July 17, 2023, Berniq Airways now moves forward with Dubai International Airport as its principal hub.”
Further adding, “After successfully completing a trial period for smooth operations with full compliance and meeting international standards akin to global companies, we are pleased to inform that Dubai International Airport has been officially adopted as our main hub for departures and arrivals, replacing Al Maktoum Airport from April 1, 2024, with two scheduled flights every week on Fridays and Mondays.”
This development is seen as a significant step in enhancing air connectivity and fostering closer ties between Libya and the UAE, promising more accessible and efficient travel options for passengers between the two regions.
