Libyan Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hwaij, inaugurated the third edition of the “Made in Algeria” exhibition at the Tripoli International Fairgrounds.

In his opening remarks on Monday, Al-Hwaij emphasised the importance of fostering cooperation with Algeria and creating genuine partnership opportunities between the local and Algerian private sectors.

He noted that the ministry is facilitating the establishment of branches for Algerian companies and approving their commercial agencies, which will enhance investment and increase trade volume between the two nations, according to a statement from the Ministry of Economy.

Al-Hwaij toured the exhibition to observe the various booths. The event includes an economic forum that brings together companies active in diverse economic, industrial, and commercial sectors.

The exhibition aims to showcase the breadth and quality of Algerian products and to foster business relationships between Libyan and Algerian companies.

The “Made in Algeria” exhibition features the participation of 90 Algerian companies this year, demonstrating a robust presence in its third edition. The event will run until the 6th of June, providing a platform for Algerian businesses to display their products and services and engage with potential Libyan partners.

This exhibition is part of a broader initiative to strengthen economic ties between Libya and Algeria. The Libyan government views such events as crucial for economic recovery and growth, particularly in the private sector. By supporting these initiatives, Libya aims to diversify its economy, reduce dependency on oil revenues, and promote sustainable development.

Al-Hwaij highlighted that these efforts align with the government’s strategy to create a favourable business environment that attracts foreign investment and encourages local entrepreneurship. The exhibition is expected to lead to numerous business deals and collaborative ventures, significantly boosting the economic relationship between Libya and Algeria.

In conclusion, the “Made in Algeria” exhibition represents a significant step towards deepening economic cooperation and enhancing trade relations between the two North African neighbours. It underscores the commitment of both nations to leverage their economic potentials for mutual benefit.
