On Saturday, Italy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Misrata Chamber of Commerce and the Italian Federation “Federitaly” to host the first “Made in Italy” exhibition in Misrata, Libya’s third-largest city.

The agreement was finalized during the “Rome Export” event, which promotes Italian products abroad, with the participation of the “Confimprese Italia” federation and the Tunisian company “Delta Center.”

Carlo Verdone, President of Federitaly, highlighted that this exhibition marks an important step in expanding the presence of Italian businesses in North Africa. The region is experiencing significant growth and has shown a strong interest in Italian products known for their quality, creativity, and innovation.

The “Made in Italy” exhibition in Misrata is a strategic initiative for both Italy and Libya, aimed at enhancing economic ties and fostering mutual growth. Misrata, a key commercial hub in Libya, offers Italian businesses a gateway to the North African market. This exhibition is expected to increase the visibility of Italian brands and products in Libya, a long-standing trading partner for Italy.

Libya’s strategic location and rich natural resources make it a pivotal player in the North African economy. Despite years of conflict and instability, Libya is gradually rebuilding its infrastructure and economy. The exhibition will not only showcase Italian products but also open the door for collaborative ventures and investments in various sectors such as construction, agriculture, and technology.

Italian products enjoy a strong reputation globally for their quality and craftsmanship. In Libya, there is a growing demand for Italian goods, especially in sectors like fashion, automotive, food, and machinery. The “Made in Italy” exhibition will feature a diverse range of products, demonstrating Italy’s expertise and its potential to contribute to Libya’s economic development.

This agreement underscores the strengthening of diplomatic and economic relations between Italy and Libya, reflecting Italy’s commitment to supporting Libya’s economic recovery and growth. The exhibition is anticipated to attract business leaders, investors, and policymakers from both nations, fostering dialogue and cooperation.
