This morning, a high-level delegation appointed by the Libyan Minister of Interior, Major General Essam Abu Zeriba, inaugurated the Abu Mariam Police Station, which is part of the Al Abyar Security Directorate. The event was attended by the Director of Security, Major General Idris Al-Saaiti, following the completion of necessary maintenance work at the station.
During the opening ceremony, several speeches were delivered, praising Abu Zeriba’s efforts in enhancing the Ministry’s components. The event was attended by a member of the House of Representatives for the Benghazi district, as well as directors of various city departments and security agencies, heads of divisions, officers, and non-commissioned officers from the directorate, in addition to the area’s elders and dignitaries.
At the end of the ceremony, a commemorative shield was presented to the Minister of Interior in recognition of his efforts and work in improving the Ministry’s components and updating its facilities to keep pace with the country’s security developments.
This inauguration is part of the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing efforts to develop the infrastructure of security agencies and improve the services provided to citizens.

Despite the ceasefire, security remains a significant concern with sporadic fighting and the presence of mercenaries and foreign fighters. The unification of the military and the removal of foreign forces are crucial challenges.
