Italy Calls On EU To Restore Peace In Libya

Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio stressed the importance of the EU assuming its responsibility and seeking a solution to restore peace in Libya, according to the Italian news agency ‘Nova’.

“Political dialogue must be invested in to reach a negotiated and lasting solution to the Libyan crisis” Di Maio said, according to ‘Alarabiya’ news agency.

The Italian Foreign Minister pointed out that the EU’s ‘IRINI’ operation, which aims to monitor the UN arms embargo on Libya, will contribute greatly to ongoing peace efforts.
