According to press reports, the upcoming Libyan trilateral summit in Morocco aims to reach consensus on several key issues, primarily the formation of a unified government to oversee presidential and parliamentary elections and the unification of the state budget for 2024.
The London-based newspaper Al-Arab reported that the recent meeting between Mohamed Al-Mnifi, Khaled Al-Mishri, and Abdul-Hamid Dbaiba serves as a precursor to the trilateral summit in Morocco. The three leaders from Tripoli are coordinating to propose shared visions for the upcoming phase.
The newspaper added that this coordination contrasts with perspectives from the eastern authorities of Libya, which emphasise the necessity of forming a new unified government before addressing any other matters.
Morocco, with its history of facilitating agreements and bridging gaps between Libyan factions, is expected to play a crucial role in fostering consensus. The Kingdom of Morocco has consistently provided a neutral ground for Libyan dialogues, without interfering in their internal affairs or influencing their decisions.
