On Monday, Brega Petroleum Marketing Company announced the opening of two new fuel stations in Libya. The first station, located in Sabratha, features the Brega logo and is identified by the number 1095. It has a storage capacity of 120,000 liters of petroleum products.

The second station, located in Zuwara, also bears the Brega logo and is identified by the number 1098. This station has a larger storage capacity of 220,000 liters of petroleum products, according to an official statement from the company.

Brega Petroleum Marketing Company stated that this initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to meet the needs of citizens for various petroleum products. The goal is to ensure fuel reaches those who need it by opening a series of fuel stations contracted with Brega Petroleum Marketing Company.

Libya’s oil industry is a crucial part of its economy, with the country holding some of the largest proven oil reserves in Africa. However, political instability and conflict have often disrupted the supply and distribution of petroleum products. The opening of new fuel stations is a significant step toward stabilizing the fuel supply and ensuring accessibility for Libyan citizens.

The strategic placement of these fuel stations in Sabratha and Zuwara is essential. Sabratha is a coastal city in northwestern Libya, known for its rich history and archaeological sites. Zuwara, also in the northwest, is a significant hub near the Tunisian border. Both locations are critical for facilitating fuel distribution in the region, especially given the logistical challenges posed by Libya’s vast and often rugged terrain.

Brega Petroleum Marketing Company’s expansion through new fuel stations is part of its broader strategy to enhance fuel accessibility across Libya. This move is expected to alleviate some of the supply chain issues that have plagued the country in recent years. By increasing storage capacity and distribution points, Brega aims to ensure a more reliable supply of fuel, which is essential for both daily life and economic activities.
