The Libyan Foreign Ministry of the Parliament-designate government has urged Polish businesses and companies to contribute to the reconstruction process in Libya.

According to a brief statement from the ministry, this call came during a meeting on Tuesday between Adel Bakar, Director of the European Administration, and the President of the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Investment. The two parties discussed various issues concerning Libya and Poland.

Bakar invited Polish businesspeople and companies to participate in reconstruction projects in infrastructure, electricity, health, and education. He also emphasised the importance of medical team exchanges and cooperation in training and development to benefit from Polish expertise.

In related context, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Faraj Al-Qatrani received the Libyan Minister of Investment Ali Al-Saeedi, the President of the Polish Chamber of Commerce, Consultant of the Benghazi Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Poland, Fathi Al-Awami, Engineer Tariq Al-Obeidi from the Libyan Embassy in Poland, and Director of the International Relations Office Ramadan Bobtana.

Al-Qatrani welcomed the Polish delegation, praised their participation in the Benghazi International Construction Exhibition, and highlighted the historical relations between the two countries. He acknowledged Poland’s advancements in health, construction, and education.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed Libya’s openness to investment cooperation, noting the economic revival and development in eastern and southern Libyan cities through joint efforts between the General Command and the Libyan government.

The President of the Polish Chamber praised the evident security and stability in Benghazi and other eastern cities, which he described as foundational for future investments. He promised to convey this positive image to the Polish parliament and government.

He also mentioned the consideration of establishing a Polish diplomatic representation in Benghazi soon to encourage the return of Polish companies and strengthen commercial ties, given the vast investment opportunities in Libya.
