Libyan Prime Minister of the Parliament-designate government, Osama Hammad has stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between Libya and African countries through joint projects to achieve common strategic goals.
This came during a meeting with the Minister of African Affairs, Issa Abdulmajid, at the Cabinet Headquarters in Benghazi.
Hammad was also briefed on the latest developments in neighbouring countries and the outcomes of the Abdulmajid’s recent visits to these African nations, including the most recent visit to Guinea-Bissau.
Last week, Abdelmajid met with Mohamed Jamil Darba, an advisor to the Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exchanging expertise across various fields.
According to a government statement, Darba delivered an oral message from Guinea-Bissau’s Prime Minister, Geraldo Martins, to Libya’s Prime Minister, Osama Hammad. The message emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two nations on several projects aimed at achieving shared strategic objectives.
The Libyan eastern-based government, led by Hammad, reaffirmed its commitment to boosting international cooperation and fostering bilateral relations with African countries. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to achieve sustainable development and stability in the region.
The discussions between Abdelmajid and Darba highlighted the potential areas for collaboration, including economic development, infrastructure, and social programmes. Both parties expressed a keen interest in leveraging their respective strengths to benefit their nations and the wider African continent.
Abdelmajid stressed the importance of such meetings in building stronger ties with African neighbours. He noted that cooperation with Guinea-Bissau could pave the way for new opportunities in trade, investment, and cultural exchange. By sharing knowledge and best practices, both countries can work towards common goals and address regional challenges more effectively.
