Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita discussed the latest developments in Libya and the joint coordination efforts to resolve the crisis.

This conversation took place during a phone call on Wednesday evening, addressing various regional developments, according to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The statement mentioned that Minister Abdelatty emphasised the importance of continued coordination between Egypt and Morocco on various issues on the African and Arab fronts. He highlighted the necessity of ongoing consultations and exchange of views in international forums, given the alignment of both countries’ positions on many matters of mutual interest.

The discussion also covered the current situation in Libya. Both ministers underscored the importance of joint coordination in efforts to resolve the crisis, considering the similar stances of both nations in this regard.

Additionally, the conversation touched on the recent developments in the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Minister Abdelatty outlined Egypt’s efforts to achieve a ceasefire, facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid, and work towards de-escalating the tensions in the region. The goal is to halt the ongoing escalation and shield the region from the devastation of war.

In conclusion, Minister Bourita praised Cairo’s pivotal role in its regional surroundings, particularly its efforts to end the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

He also commended Egypt’s persistent endeavours to prevent the expansion of the conflict and to promote security and stability across the region, as stated in the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ statement.
