Under the patronage of the Libyan Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sharif Erhouma, the International Scientific Conference commenced in Benghazi at the Tibesti Hotel. The conference, themed “The Role of Small and Medium Enterprises in Reducing Unemployment in Libya,” is organized by the General Authority for Employment, affiliated with the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation.
The event saw participation from representatives from Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco, along with attendees from various Libyan cities. Notably, the conference was inaugurated in the presence of members of the Libyan House of Representatives, including Aisha Al-Tablagi and Sultanah Al-Mismari, along with Libyan Deputy Prime Ministers Ali Al-Qatrani and Engineer Salem Al-Zadma, and other government ministers such as Defense Minister Dr. Ehmied Houma and Health Minister Osman Abdul Jalil.
The conference aims to highlight the importance of supporting small and medium enterprises in Libya as effective tools for reducing unemployment, assessing the role of the General Authority for Employment in supporting Libyan youth and promoting an entrepreneurial culture. Sessions at the conference will cover various topics related to economic changes, the culture of freelancing, challenges in establishing small businesses, and financing mechanisms.
The event also honored several distinguished figures, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Counselor Aguila Saleh, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, and the Prime Minister, Dr. Osama Hammad.
