On Sunday, Algeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs voiced serious concerns regarding recent military movements in several Libyan regions, particularly in the southwest.
In a statement, the Algerian government highlighted the importance of maintaining stability in the region and preventing any escalation of violence. These concerns align with the United Nations calls for caution amidst the current tensions.
The Libyan National Army (LNA), under the leadership of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, has been actively reinforcing its presence in the southwestern areas of Libya.
The LNA’s movements are part of a strategic effort to secure the country’s borders and prevent illegal activities, such as arms smuggling and human trafficking, which have been exacerbated by the instability in neighboring countries like Mali and Niger.
