In a humanitarian initiative led by the Libyan Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, an aid-laden aircraft departed from Benina International Airport on Monday morning, heading for Gat City. The mission is aimed at supporting those affected by the devastating floods that recently swept through the city and its surrounding areas.
This operation was conducted in coordination with the General Command of the Armed Forces. The Ministry’s Zakat Fund Administration organized the urgent relief convoy, which included large quantities of essential food supplies, medicines, clothing, tents, and other necessary items to meet the needs of the displaced and those impacted by the disaster.
Libya has been in chaos since a NATO-backed uprising toppled longtime leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011. The county has for years been split between rival administrations.
