Members of the Libyan House of Representatives, Ismail Al-Sharif, Fawzia Abu Ghaliya, and Suad Al-Shili, participated in the 43rd World Scout Conference held in Egypt.
The event was organised under the auspices of the World Organization of the Scout Movement and saw the attendance of over 2,000 Scout members from 176 countries.
Libya’s General Movement of Scouts and Guides was represented by the General Scout Leader of Libya, the Chairman of the General Scout Conference, and several leaders, scouts, and guides from Libya.
The conference addressed several key topics, including peace, sustainability, youth leadership, human rights, and non-formal education. These discussions aimed to inspire the leadership of national Scout associations through a series of sessions and workshops held throughout the conference.
In addition to their participation in the main conference, the Libyan parliamentary representatives attended the 15th General Assembly meeting of the Arab Parliamentarians’ Scout Union, held on the sidelines of the 43rd World Scout Conference.
During the meeting, attendees discussed various agenda items, including the approval of the minutes from the previous assembly meeting and the adoption of the administrative and technical reports.
Ismail Al-Sharif, a member of the Libyan House of Representatives, stated that they also met with the delegation of the Libyan Scouts and Guides to align their views.
Additionally, several meetings were held with delegations from other participating countries. Al-Sharif confirmed that the Arab Parliamentarians’ Scout Union had agreed to hold its next meeting in Benghazi.
