Sirte University closes amid coronavirus concerns

Sirte University suspended classes in all branches and colleges for two weeks starting from Saturday, March 14, due to the public health emergency threat that is COVID-19 (commonly known as “Coronavirus”).

The Director of Sirte University, Ahmed Al Mahjoub, said that this decision comes within the framework of a series of precautionary measures being implemented across Libya to ensure student’s public health and to prevent an outbreak from occurring.

He pointed out that the announcement does not include university faculty members.
