The Libyan Ministry of Health is exploring ways to enhance primary healthcare services and foster partnerships with medical universities, aiming to improve the quality of healthcare in the country.
During a meeting between Faiza Al-Hawari, Advisor to the Minister of Health for the Libyan government, and Souad Faraj Al-Mani, Director of Quality and Health Research at the Faculty of Public Health, discussions centred on one of the key pillars of the Ministry’s 2024 strategy. The focus was on fostering partnerships with medical universities to elevate healthcare services and promote medical research.
The meeting highlighted the significant role of research, which spans over 24 years, and its positive impact on the quality of healthcare. Discussions also touched on how the health sector can benefit from the findings of these long-standing research efforts.
This meeting marks a key step towards expanding the collaboration between the Faculty of Public Health and other medical faculties, with the goal of boosting the efficiency and standards of the Libyan healthcare system through research.
Al-Hawari emphasised that the vision of the Faculty of Public Health is to serve the community across various public health and healthcare specialisations. She also stressed the importance of training highly qualified professionals in diverse fields, explaining how the ministry could benefit from these experts in enhancing the country’s health sector.
