The Libyan Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has initiated steps to integrate Palestinian students from Gaza into Libyan universities and the Academy of Graduate Studies.
A ministerial committee, appointed by Minister Omran Al-Qeeb, has been formed to oversee coordination, placement, and distribution of the incoming students, according to a statement released by the ministry on Facebook.
On 16 October, the ministry announced plans to prepare accommodations at Al-Zaytouna University for Palestinian students. This initiative aims to alleviate the struggles faced by students from Gaza, where the community has endured ongoing conflict.
Minister Al-Qeeb and Palestinian Ambassador to Libya, Mohamed Rahal, have agreed to welcome a number of undergraduate and postgraduate students from Gaza’s universities. Necessary administrative procedures, including visa arrangements, academic placement, and transferring academic records, have been completed to facilitate the students’ enrolment.
This collaboration reflects Libya’s commitment to supporting Palestinian students amid the crisis in Gaza and providing them with the educational opportunities necessary to continue their studies in a secure environment.
