On Tuesday, Bahraini Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee at the Shura Council, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdulla Al-Ajman, announced Bahrain’s support for the position of the Egyptian parliament and President Abdel-Fatah El-Sisi’s mandate to intervene in Libya to prevent Turkish interference in Arab affairs.

Al-Ajman indicated that the decision came in line with the Libyan Parliament’s request and a request made by a tribal delegation that visited Cairo to ask Egypt to protect Libya and its people from Turkey, according to the Bahrain News Agency.

The Chairman appreciated the role that Egypt was playing towards the Arab world based on the joint Arab defense agreement, through the Arab League. He reiterated Egypt’s right to secure its western borders from terrorism and its Arab duty to preserve the territorial integrity of Libya.
