The Libyan National Army (LNA) announced that its air defense system shot down a GNA drone conducting a reconnaissance mission over al-Jufra air base.

The LNA has controlled the strategic al-Jufra airbase since June 2017.

The district of Jufra is around 500km southwest of Benghazi, and equal distance southeast of Tripoli.

The GNA coalition has been carrying out a series of attempts at taking al-Jufra in the past month, but to no avail as of yet.
