Yousef Al-Agouri, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee in Libya’s House of Representatives, held a meeting with Nicolas Orlando, the European Union Ambassador to Libya, and his accompanying delegation to discuss Libya’s ongoing political and economic developments and future cooperation between the EU and Libya.
The talks addressed the EU’s technical support program for Libya’s House of Representatives, with a focus on initiatives planned for the next three years.
Al-Agouri emphasized the EU’s vital role in supporting Libya’s stability, noting the strong connection between the stability of Libya and Europe. He highlighted the importance of aligning EU programs to ensure they are inclusive and benefit all regions of Libya.
Al-Agouri also provided feedback on EU initiatives, including the EU Border Support Program, underscoring its significance in enhancing national security and calling for it to cover all areas of Libya comprehensively.
He stressed the need for greater coordination to maximize the effectiveness of these programs and ensure they address Libya’s broader challenges.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment to strengthening cooperation between Libya and the EU to promote stability, enhance governance, and address economic challenges. Both parties highlighted the importance of joint efforts to support Libya’s recovery and long-term development.
