The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman, along with board members and the Chairman of the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), Mohamed Ben Shatwan, inaugurated the company’s new Natlex Data Centre.
The centre is equipped with the latest technology in the Middle East, allowing for faster and more efficient data exchange between AGOCO and NOC regarding exploration and production activities across oil fields.
Additionally, a Command and Control Centre was launched, designed for real-time monitoring and remote control of oil wells. The system operates 24/7 from AGOCO’s main data centre, ensuring greater operational efficiency and security.
This project is part of NOC’s digital transformation strategy, aimed at improving technological infrastructure and increasing production capacity. The inauguration was attended by a number of department directors and specialists from both NOC and AGOCO.
Libya has been in chaos since a NATO-backed uprising toppled longtime leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011. The county has for years been split between rival administrations.
Libya’s economy, heavily reliant on oil, has suffered due to the ongoing conflict. The instability has led to fluctuations in oil production and prices, impacting the global oil market and Libya’s economy.
