On Thursday, Bahraini Foreign Minister, Abdel-Latif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, received a telephone call from his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan. They reviewed current regional issues, and stressed the importance of reaching a ceasefire, and political solution in Libya.

This solution must preserve the country’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. According to the two, it should also fulfil the aspirations of Libyans for security, peace and development.

During the talks, the two discussed bilateral relations, and ways to enhance joint cooperation, to serve the common interests of the two countries and peoples. Al-Zayani praised Saudi Arabia’s continuous efforts to deal with the challenges that threaten Arab security and interests.

He also lauded the continued efforts undertaken by Saudi Arabia to coordinate on Arab, regional, and international levels to stop the interference of other regional powers in the internal affairs of Arab countries, and to confront the threat of extremist organisations as well as the forces supporting them, and to maintain the security and stability of the region.
