The first edition of the Libya Women Leaders Forum will be held in Egypt from 23 to 25 May. The event will bring together Libyan women leaders from various fields to discuss entrepreneurship, networking, and women’s empowerment.
The forum will be attended by Intissar Abboud, Minister of State for Women’s Affairs in the government appointed by the House of Representatives. Several female members of municipal councils will also join the event.
Aisha Al-Barghathi, Director of Women’s Affairs in the Libyan National Army, will take part in the forum, alongside NGO activists, artists, athletes, university professors, students, and businesswomen.
The agenda includes a workshop on marketing strategies and brand building. Participants will also enjoy a Nile river cruise and a field visit to explore Egyptian markets and small businesses.
The event aims to support Libyan women entrepreneurs by offering guidance for managing small and medium-sized enterprises. It also seeks to foster strong ties between Libyan and Egyptian businesswomen, allowing them to share experiences and improve skills.
Another key goal is to provide tools for success in business, with training sessions on brand development, finance, and communication. In addition, cultural activities and dialogue sessions will promote mutual understanding and strengthen cooperation between the two nations.
Organisers hope the forum will encourage more Libyan women to lead in business, culture, and public life. With the involvement of key figures and grassroots activists, the event marks a significant step towards greater female participation in Libya’s economic and social spheres.
The forum reflects wider regional efforts to empower women and foster cross-border collaboration, especially in post-conflict settings like Libya.
