Libyan MP: Cairo Declaration Provides Practical Solution To Crisis

Libyan Parliament member, Saeed Imgheib, considered the unity of Libya reliant on the Libyan National Army’s (LNA) control of Sirte and Al-Jufrah, together with the continued suspension of oil exports. This situation will persist until an agreement is reached for a ceasefire followed by national dialogue, and when foreign forces are completely withdrawn from Libya.

“The proposal to reconfigure the Presidency Council, according to the initiative of Speaker Ageela Saleh, which culminated in the Cairo Declaration, is the only available solution and the closest to practical implementation. This is if there is “a sincere international will for a ceasefire, the end of Turkish presence, and the departure of mercenaries”, Imgheib said.

Imgheib added that this solution will result in the implementation of the Berlin Conference’s outputs, “the most important of which is the dismantling of the militias, and their disarmament.”
