The Benghazi International Exhibition for Telecommunications and the Digital Economy kicked off on Monday with significant participation from both the public and private sectors, alongside a strong official and public presence.

The event saw the attendance of several ministers, business leaders, and executives from local and international tech companies, in addition to representatives from banks and financial institutions.

The exhibition aims to showcase the latest innovations in telecommunications, digital transformation, and financial technology. It also seeks to promote digitalization across administrative and economic sectors, aligning with a comprehensive national vision to modernize Libya’s technological infrastructure.

Fintech and Banking at the Forefront

Ahmed Sanouq, Director of Banking Product Development, told Libyan News Agency that his bank’s participation represents a strategic step toward expanding electronic payment systems in line with international banking standards.

“We aim to be an integral part of the digital transformation in banking,” Sanouq stated. “We continue working to offer smart financial services that enhance transaction speed and efficiency while reducing reliance on cash.”

He added that the exhibition revealed promising new startups in digital technology and financial management reform, opening doors for future cooperation and strategic partnerships across the sector.

A National Platform for Digital Dialogue

The exhibition also serves as a vital national platform for dialogue, featuring panel discussions and specialized workshops designed to address technological and economic challenges. The sessions aim to offer practical solutions and craft strategic visions for a more efficient and inclusive digital future in Libya.
