Libya has deported 456 undocumented migrants of various nationalities as part of intensified efforts to combat illegal migration and enhance domestic security, according to a statement from the Illegal Immigration Control Department (IICD).
The operation was carried out by the department’s Al-Butnan branch, under the direct supervision of Brigadier General Ibrahim Larabid, and in line with instructions from Major General Salah Al-Khafifi, Head of the IICD.

The migrants included individuals from Egypt, Sudan, Bangladesh, Yemen, and Somalia, among others. The deportation was executed in three main phases, following established legal and security procedures.
Phase One: A group of migrants was deported via the Al-Emsaed land border crossing, a key gateway in eastern Libya.
Phase Two: A second group was transferred to the Qanfouda Detention Center to undergo final health and legal checks.
Phase Three: The remaining individuals were sent to the Sebha Detention Center in southern Libya, in preparation for their final deportation.
Ongoing Crackdown on Irregular Migration
The Al-Butnan branch emphasized that operations are being conducted daily in an organized and disciplined manner, in full coordination with the General Command and other relevant agencies. These efforts aim to curb the influx of irregular migrants and maintain public order, especially in border areas and urban centers.
The IICD confirmed its commitment to humane and lawful deportation procedures, working closely with both security and service entities to ensure that operations are carried out ethically and effectively.
