Libya’s Brega Petroleum Marketing Company announced on Wednesday that the fuel tanker Meteora has arrived at Tripoli port carrying more than 37 million liters of gasoline. The shipment is part of the company’s ongoing program to secure stable fuel supplies and meet the growing needs of the domestic market.
Brega confirmed that unloading operations began immediately after the vessel docked. The gasoline is being transferred into distribution trucks to supply petrol stations across the capital and surrounding regions. The company stressed that this process ensures continuity of service and helps prevent disruptions for motorists.
This delivery comes just days after the arrival of another tanker, Easterly Symphon, which unloaded approximately 35 million liters of gasoline at Tripoli’s oil terminal on Saturday. Together, the two shipments highlight Brega’s efforts to maintain consistent supply levels and reassure citizens that fuel stocks remain secure.
In its statement, the company emphasized that available reserves in its depots are sufficient to cover demand and that distribution to petrol stations is ongoing around the clock. It reassured the public that measures are in place to keep supplies flowing smoothly, even during periods of heightened demand.
With two major shipments arriving within a week, Tripoli’s fuel reserves have been significantly reinforced, offering short-term relief to consumers and signaling efforts to prevent future shortages.
