On Saturday, the Prime Minister of the Libyan Interim Government, Abdullah Al-Thinni, held a meeting with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Emraja Ghaith, in Benghazi to discuss the functioning of the ministry and its plans to cover the general budget items in light of the lack of financial resources.

The Mayor of the Benghazi Municipality, Mr. Saqr Boujwari, has also attended the meeting.
During the talks, Al-Thinni stressed the necessity of submitting a report by the ministry on expenditures for the first half of 2020.

The meeting also focused on the mechanisms for preparing a draft budget for 2021 in coordination with all ministries, bodies and public institutions of the Libyan government, to be reviewed before referring it to the Parliament for approval.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister has instructed the officials, concerned with expediting the completion of projects being implemented in the municipality of Benghazi and coordinating with the Ministry of Finance and Planning, to provide financial coverage for these projects.

The meeting also discussed the project of paving the Benghazi-Gardena-Salouq road, in addition to development and maintenance works at the eastern entrance to the city.
